Horror Calendar 2013

Here’s a Horror, Sci-Fi, and Fantasy, cartoon calendar for 2013. Each month will feature themes from folklore, mythology and personal whimsy. This is a work in progress, so keep checking back.

January:

Janos, The God of Doors

January

For January, I chose Janos, the Roman God of Doors. This is after all, The Ghastly Door, and I always like to start with one. Janos is always shown with two faces; one looking forward, and the other looking back. Is it true that the face looking back is friendlier?

February:

There are two ways to look at February. Right side up, I call it “The Birth Of The Lambs”

February Reverse

There’s another side otFebruary though, upside down, it’s "The Wolf Moon." When there are lambs, there are wolves. It’s said that werewolves are active the entire month of February.

I might use this one for March. I’m not sure yet. This is the Angle Saxon Goddess of Spring Ostara. During March, she would wander the earth in the form of a rabbit, looking to see what was good, or evil. It’s called “Ostara Making Her Rounds.”
